PRINTED TROUSERS – How I Style Them
Why Aren’t you Wearing Printed Trousers?
I don’t know if its all the fashion weeks or my obsession with stalking chic women who redefine street style on Pinterest. But I fell in love with two things; printed trousers and clashing patterns. So I grabbed my two favourite printed trousers from Old Navy, a white, blue, and red striped pair, as well as a black patterned pair. Given that I could’ve styled the trousers with a plain shirt and a killer shoe, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and CLASH some patterns!
The first outfit is one of my favourites. I paired the printed trousers with this top from Mango. I love how the top wraps around the neck into a bow, looking chic and elegant. Even though a colour scheme is absent for this outfit, these pieces come together by tucking the top in and separating them with a belt. I added a navy blue structured jacket, some funky cat-eye sunglasses from BCBG, a red purse by Kate Spade, and my Zara slippers. I also popped on some pink eyeshadow to complete the look.
For the second outfit, I paired the striped pair with even more stripes and some polka dots. But guess what? It works due to the mutuality of the colours; red, white, and navy blue. I paired it with this striped top from Reitmans, and tucked part of it in to the trousers to proportion things out. I also paired this with a polka dotted scarf around my neck from Zara. I love how this outfit is “out of my comfort zone” but still maintains a retro and put together vibe!
